This is an exciting opportunity to join the Elementary Particle Physics group within the Department of Physics at the University of Warwick.
We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to undertake research in the LHCb experiment, specifically to work on development of particle identification detectors for LHCb Upgrade 2, to carry out research and development on photon detectors in the context of the DRD4 collaboration, and to contribute to our programme of LHCb data analysis.
Flexible Working
We are looking for someone with a PhD in experimental particle physics or another relevant subject, and a proven track record of research in instrumentation and/or data analysis. Experience in software and modern data analysis techniques would be valuable for the role, as would good working knowledge of C++ and Python. Candidates should have excellent communication and collaborative working skills, as well as demonstrated experience of planning and time management to deliver research goals effectively. About the EPP
The Elementary Particle Physics group’s activity encompasses energy frontier studies with ATLAS, flavour physics with LHCb, and neutrino studies with T2K and now DUNE & Hyper-K. Research focuses on detector development, trigger hardware/software; event simulation/reconstruction; and physics analysis.
