WMG has an opportunity for a Principal Engineer, to lead a dynamic team of experts in the field of, Business Transformation and Supply Chains working with the UK manufacturing SME sector.   

You will provide leadership, for the successful and timely delivery of projects including planning, monitoring, use of resources, and meeting of project targets.  The ideal candidate will think strategically but will also have the skills to actively broaden networks, identifying and exploiting relevant opportunities.

You will have significant Manufacturing and Industrial experience in your own area of specialism and be a confident communicator. Additionally, you will have the ability to analyse and solve complex problems whilst managing multiple internal and external stakeholders. You will possess a good honours degree (2.1 or above) or equivalent in an engineering or scientific discipline, and ideally hold a postgraduate qualification.

WMG operates a range of programmes such as collaborate research, postgraduate education, internships and innovation services.  The WMG centre High Value Manufacturing (HVM) Catapult Programme is tasked with working with Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to help them to adopt new innovations leading to a technology led competitive advantage.  The programme will provide SMEs with access to a range of technology workstreams and subsequent new opportunities for innovative products. 

SME support services will be offered by the team to ensure on-going success through delivering advisory activities to ensure WMG Centre High Value Manufacturing (HVM) Catapult programme Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and deliverable targets are met.
