Are you ready to join WMG within our Energy Innovation Centre (EIC) working on the development and manufacturing of lithium-ion batteries. You will have unrivalled access to a wide range and scale of battery manufacturing equipment and resources https://binda.lnx.warwick.ac.uk/virtualtour-wmg/ and work as part of the electrochemical materials team.

Together you will work on multiple lab-based experimental projects focused on upscaling and testing materials and components from a laboratory scale coin cells to our pilot-scale manufacturing including pouch and cylindrical cells.

All projects involve working closely with industrial partners including automotive, energy storage, aerospace and marine sectors tackling a range of challenges including improving energy density, power density, quality, cost, functional safety, reliability, and battery lifetime.

Do you have a strong background in chemistry or process engineering as well as a good understanding of technologies/experience in lithium-ion battery manufacturing, ink formulation, mixing, electrode coating, calendaring, cell manufacturing (coin and pouch) and electrochemical testing. 

The successful candidate will have experience in experimental design, data analysis and interpretation. Finally, you will have previously developed good project management skills, excellent communications skills (oral and written) and have a high attention to detail.
